Materials
The Avant Garde series of stacking chairs add a new dimension to interior environments by the ornamentation of the chair's outside back. The ornamentations are die stamped out of aluminum sheeting and then welded to the outside of the back frame.
Geometric motifs were reintroduced during the 1920's construction boom when the great architects of that period used ornamentation as a form of new modernism.
The frame members are of 7/8" (2.22cm) extruded aluminum, reinforced with titanium. It is light in weight and will not rust. Two sides of the extruded aluminum are finished smooth and two sides facing front and back are in a sculptured classic design that will meet the test of time.
The powder coat finish (available in Gold, Soft Silver, Bronze, or Burgundy) is applied electrostatically after a thorough chemical cleaning to insure permanent adhesion.
An important innovation in the Adam series of chairs is the ability to stack the chairs 12 high, in less vertical space than previously required for a stack of 10.
The new front to back leg configuration permits the chairs to almost stack straight up. The new front to back stacking bar (Patent applied for) affords for greater distribution of weight when stacked to the maximum.
The Adam series chairs feature an injection molded, curved seat panel which contributes substantially to the overall weight reduction. The curved seat is covered with 2" (5.1cm) of molded foam and is attached to the frame with Nylock™ bolts which fasten to the pre-inserted clinch nuts. The are no exposed fasteners.
The triple umbrella glides assure years of trouble free service.
The weight of the finished chair, depending on the upholstery cover and back design, ranges from 13.5 to 14.5 pounds (6.1 to 6.7 kg).
